Hemoglobin A1c, or just "A1c" is a test that your health care provider may order to help evaluate how well your diabetes is controlled. The American Diabetes Association recommends that people with diabetes keep their A1c less than 7%. This can be difficult to do, especially if you aren’t sure how to manage your diabetes using meal planning, exercise and medication. Ask your health care provider for a referral to the Providence Diabetes Center for comprehensive diabetes education. We want to give you the tools you need to manage your diabetes successfully!
