Board Certified physicians John Sefton, Kevin Carter and Sheila Cheruvelil offer personalized treatment and care to all family members, from newborns to geriatric patients.

John C. Sefton, DO
has served the healthcare needs of families in our community for over 26 years. He is a graduate of the Ohio University of College of Osteopathic Medicine, and performed his residency locally at Grandview Hospital and Medical Center.

Kevin A. Carter, DO, FAASM is Board Certified in both Family Practice and Sleep Medicine; he was recently awarded the degree of Fellow by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.  

Dr. Carter recently served as Medical Director at the United States Army Sleep Medicine Center at Fort Benning, GA. He is a graduate of the Ohio University of College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Board certified in Internal Medicine, Sheila Cheruvelil, MD, brings over 14 years experience to Beavercreek Commons Family Practice. In caring for her patients, she considers all aspects of a person’s health, environment and lifestyle to promote optimum wellness. Dr. Cheruvelil is also fluent in Spanish, helping our practice serve a diverse patient community.

Dr. Cheruvelil received her medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine. She and her family are long-term residents of the greater Dayton area.

Steven Folkerth, MD, is board certified in Internal Medicine, and offers personalized, compassionate care with over thirty-five years of experience in adult health and wellness. He is also a certified Clinical Trial Investigator, and oversees a range of clinical trials for the Providence Health Partners Center for Clinical Research.

A native of Dayton, Dr. Folkerth received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, and performed both his internship and residency at the Kettering Medical Center.

Certified Nurse Practitioner Elena Soppe provides complete clinical care — including treatment of illness and injuries, routine check-ups and disease prevention, as well as diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions for patients of all ages.

Elena, a Registered Nurse with years of experience in as a labor and delivery nurse, has a specialized interest in women’s health. She also plays an important role in counseling our patients on ways to better manage their own health to assure long-term wellness.

Treatment for Sleep Disorders at the Carter Sleep Center

Dr. Kevin Carter provides full-spectrum sleep medicine evaluations, diagnosis, and treatments at the Carter Sleep Center, located in the offices of Beavercreek Commons Family Practice. The Center treats sleep-related breathing disorders (Obstructive Sleep Apnea), insomnia, narcolepsy, restless leg syndrome, and parasomnias in all age groups.
